SMS Opt-In & Consent

How Match Circle obtains consent to send SMS.

This page documents how users of the Match Circle mobile app consent to receive SMS messages. Match Circle sends SMS exclusively for transactional account verification — one-time passcodes (OTPs) — and never for marketing or promotional purposes.

How users opt in

During account registration and login, the Match Circle app presents a phone-number entry screen. On that screen, directly below the phone-number field, the user sees the following consent disclosure before they can proceed:

"By entering your number, you agree to receive verification codes and account alerts."
  1. The user enters their phone number on the sign-up screen shown below.
  2. The consent text is displayed in plain view next to the input — the user must see it to continue.
  3. The user taps "Next", which constitutes their opt-in.
  4. Only then does Match Circle send a single SMS containing a one-time verification code.

SMS messages are sent only in direct response to this user action. Users do not receive unsolicited messages.

Sample message

The verification SMS a user receives reads:

Your MatchCircle verification code is: 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Do not share this code with anyone.
Opting out

Users can reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS, or contact [email protected] for help. Because SMS is used for account verification, opting out disables SMS-based login.
